The React Native Belgium community continues to gain momentum. During the third edition of the React Native Belgium meetup, hosted by ACA Group, developers once again gathered for an evening of knowledge-sharing and inspiration.

A growing community of React Native enthusiasts

What started as a revival has now grown into a recurring touchpoint for React Native developers across Belgium. This third edition built further on that foundation, bringing together both familiar faces and new participants eager to exchange ideas and stay up to date with the latest developments.

The goal remains unchanged: creating a space where developers can learn from each other, explore new ideas, and strengthen the local React Native ecosystem. And judging by the energy in the room, that mission is very much alive.

An evening of insights and real-world experiences

The evening kicked off with an informal reception, giving everyone the chance to connect over food and drinks before diving into the talks.

Talks: from secure foundations to next-gen architecture

Brent Van Vosselen opened the evening with a deep dive into mobile app security. As mobile applications handle increasingly sensitive data, he emphasized that security should be embedded from the start rather than added as an afterthought. Brent walked the audience through common vulnerabilities in mobile development and translated them into practical strategies for React Native teams. From safeguarding data storage and API communication to anticipating real-world attack scenarios, his talk offered concrete guidance developers can apply immediately to strengthen their applications.

Tim Claes followed with a session on Turbo Modules, part of React Native’s new architecture. He explained how the shift from the traditional bridge to direct communication via the JavaScript Interface (JSI) fundamentally changes how JavaScript and native code interact. By enabling faster execution, lazy loading, and more scalable integrations, Turbo Modules open the door to better-performing applications. Tim also explored what this means in practice for developers, including its impact on project structure and long-term maintainability.

Together, the sessions combined immediate, practical takeaways with a forward-looking perspective on where React Native is heading.

More than just code: connecting the React Native Belgium community

While the talks are a key part of the evening, the real value also lies in the connections being made. Conversations continued well after the sessions ended, with participants exchanging ideas, discussing challenges and strengthening their network.

With three successful editions behind it, React Native Belgium is steadily establishing itself as a reliable community within the Belgian tech scene.

Business Unit Manager Katrien Gistelinck: “We have to demonstrate that we possess both in-depth expertise and significant experience with Atlassian products and projects. In practice, this means: obtaining the necessary accreditations, proving our technical knowledge, and meeting strict standards for sales and customer satisfaction.”

Flutter Belgium meetup #26: an inspiring evening in our Ghent office

3 February 2026- ACA Group was pleased to host theFlutter Belgium meetup #26at our office in Ghent. Developers, software architects, and technology enthusiasts from across Belgium joined us to explore current topics in Flutter development, software architecture, and the evolving role of AI in software engineering. The meetup clearly reflected what the Flutter Belgium community stands for:practical insights, openness,andcontinuous learning.

A program full of Flutter insights

The evening started with food and drinks, giving everyone the chance to reconnect with familiar faces and meet new ones. Shortly after, the stage was set for a series of lightning talks (casual and short ;)). From demos to experimental ideas, these sessions showcase demos, experimental ideas and practical experiences from the Flutter ecosystem.

The program continued with two in-depth technical sessions:

Anton Borries: “Codepushing my dad off of GitHub”

A talk that blended technical insight with a refreshing personal angle, showing how code, collaboration, and learning often go hand in hand.

Stijn Huygh: “Keep your architecture in check in an AI-assisted world”

A timely and thought-provoking session on how AI is changing the way we think about software architecture and why solid fundamentals matter more than ever.

We did it: our company fleet is now 100% electric!

Today, we can proudly say: we made it 👏! Since May 2025, our entire fleet has been fully electric, with 177 EVs supporting our employees in their daily work.
