SoCraTes Meet Up in Hasselt

Last updated: 28 April 2026
On 30 November, the SoCraTes (Software Crafting and Testing) Community is organising a meet-up at our office in Hasselt. This event is interesting for passionate developers who want to learn more and share their own experiences and knowledge. It is open to anyone who is passionate about development and strongly believes in mastering the craft of software.

Work from our office & join the community
Are you interested in the meetup but travelling from a bit further away? We offer 8 workspaces in our open space where you can spend the day working alongside fellow passionate developers.
Enjoy free coffee (and soft drinks), Wi-Fi, and most likely a complimentary lunch. After your workday, you can seamlessly join the SoCraTes meetup taking place in the same space.
Want to reserve a spot? Get in touch with Louis Hendrikx via email.
The SoCraTes Community
The SoCraTes Community is a place to discuss everything related to software engineering. These meetups are designed for passionate IT professionals who want to learn, share knowledge, and inspire each other.
We welcome software crafters of all experience levels and technologies. We believe software craftsmanship is about learning from each other, taking responsibility for your work, and being proud of what you do—regardless of your background or level of experience.
The goal? To have meaningful, interesting discussions and share knowledge in an open and welcoming environment.

How does it work?
The meetups follow an open space format, meaning the agenda is created together on the evening itself. No one is required to propose a topic, but active participation is encouraged.
We start with 15–20 minutes of lightning talks. If you have a demo, a new technology, or something interesting, controversial, or fun to share, you’re welcome to present it to the group. Don’t worry if you’ve never given a talk before—it’s a great opportunity to practice in a friendly environment.
After the lightning talks, we build the agenda together. Anyone can suggest topics such as:
- Sharing experiences
- Asking for help
- Exploring new ideas
- Starting discussions
- Or anything else relevant to the group
All topics are briefly presented and then selected together to form the agenda.
Once the agenda is set, multiple parallel sessions of approximately 30 minutes take place. You can freely choose which session to join and what you want to discuss, giving you full control over your experience.
Still not completely clear? Just join and experience it for yourself.
