VIAS institute wanted to transform its expertise into digital products, reach new audiences and reduce its reliance on government-funded projects.
Together, we identified the most promising digital opportunities and translated them into a clear roadmap with five strategic growth streams.
Through market research, workshops, stakeholder interviews, ideation sessions and business case development, we built a digital roadmap with broad internal support.
A clear strategic roadmap, with "Redefining Learning to Drive" selected as the first priority for future digital product development.

VIAS institute is Belgium's knowledge centre for road safety, mobility and behavioural change. The organisation combines scientific research, policy advice and educational initiatives to improve road safety. It is widely known for campaigns such as BOB and the VIAS Academy.
VIAS wanted to strengthen its societal mission by developing digital products and services that create both social impact and sustainable commercial value.
To achieve this, the organisation was looking for a strategic partner to help:
Together with ACA Group, VIAS mapped its existing strengths, products and expertise and connected them with real market needs and opportunities.
The result was a clear digital roadmap consisting of five strategic value streams. Each growth opportunity was supported by market insights, stakeholder feedback and a realistic business case, enabling VIAS to make well-informed decisions about future investments.

To build a roadmap with broad internal support, we combined multiple research methods:
We analyzed market trends and mapped VIAS' existing products and services.
Workshops with different internal teams helped identify opportunities and sharpen strategic ambitions.
External stakeholders, including driving schools, police, insurance companies, psychologists and mobility experts, contributed valuable insights.
Digital concepts were developed and refined during ideation and validation sessions.
Business cases assessed the feasibility and potential impact of each initiative.
Visualisations and concept flows helped make complex ideas tangible and easy to understand.
During the proof-of-concept, important additional challenges came to light, such as the fact that not all types of defects could be detected with the camera setup used. Thanks to ACA's way of working, Duvel was able to quickly gain insight into the possibilities of computer vision and the conditions needed to make the system operational, all at a limited cost.
Working with ACA has been a very constructive and enjoyable experience. They took the time to truly understand both our needs and those of the market. Their visualizations and process flows made complex ideas immediately clear. Throughout the project, their expertise and experience continuously confirmed that choosing ACA was the right decision.

The project provided VIAS with a clear strategic direction for its digital future.
By combining societal goals with market potential, the roadmap creates a strong foundation for sustainable growth while reinforcing VIAS' mission.
Out of the five strategic value streams, VIAS chose to prioritise "Redefining Learning to Drive." This decision was based on:
Today, VIAS has a solid strategic foundation, broad internal alignment and a concrete action plan to successfully develop and grow future digital products.

Ecofix Gas & Power, an energy provider in the Belgian energy market, needed a strong brand identity and a digital solution to support its market entry. The challenge was to deliver both within a limited timeframe while enabling customers to manage their energy consumption. A brand identity and mobile app were developed to provide customer control over usage. This resulted in a fast go-to-market and improved customer engagement and self-service.

Ketnet, a public media brand in the broadcasting and digital media sector, needed to revamp its fragmented ecosystem of apps and websites. The challenge was to define a clear product vision and improve user engagement for a young audience. Using Design Thinking, user research, and iterative development, a unified digital platform was created. This resulted in a data-driven ecosystem that continuously evolves based on user feedback, improving engagement and long-term scalability.

Medi-Market, a retail company in the pharmacy and healthcare sector, needed to improve the ergonomics and efficiency of in-store stock management for shop assistants. ACA Group transformed the existing replenishment system into a Progressive Web App (PWA) optimized for handheld devices. This mobile solution streamlines stock processes, enhances usability, and increases operational efficiency across more than 70 stores.

Stad Hasselt, a local government organization in the public sector, wanted to improve digital access to municipal services through a mobile application but faced low usability and user adoption. ACA Group conducted UX audits and real-world user testing to optimize the app’s design and functionality. This resulted in a user-friendly mobile app with higher user satisfaction and improved accessibility to city services for residents.
