Your role at ACA

As a Liferay Product Expert, you are responsible for building and maintaining efficient, reusable, and reliable components, visualizations, and integrations within Liferay DXP platforms and enterprise portals. These solutions enable users to manage and present content and data in a personalized, dynamic way—whether through customer portals, intranets, websites, or other channels.

You develop and maintain DXP solutions using the latest technologies, ensuring optimal performance, quality, and responsiveness of the applications.

You collaborate with other passionate team members who are committed to delivering high-quality results. Together with an analyst, team lead, UI designer, UX designer, or architect, you design and develop these solutions.

Do you have what it takes?

Hard skills

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent experience).
At least 3 years of proven, hands-on experience as a Liferay Developer.
In-depth knowledge of Liferay DXP (version 7.2 or higher), including the development of custom portlets, theming, workflows, permissions, client extensions, objects, and service builder.
Strong proficiency in Java and related frameworks such as Spring (Boot), JPA/Hibernate, JSP/Servlets, and integration with REST/SOAP APIs.
Solid experience with JavaScript (AJAX, jQuery, TypeScript, Angular or React), HTML, and CSS.
Skilled in SQL, Tomcat, and build tools such as Maven and Gradle.
Excellent communication skills in English and/or Dutch.

Nice to Have

Experience with Liferay upgrade/migration projects.
Certified Liferay Developer.
Familiarity with OSGi and modular development within Liferay.
Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and general security concepts.
Experience with Liferay PaaS or SaaS is a plus!
Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Git, Jenkins, Bitbucket, etc.) and tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
Understanding of Agile methodologies, Extreme Programming (XP), or Test-Driven Development (TDD).
