Looking back on Trefdag Vlaanderen Digitaal 2026 with OVAM, OutSystems and SUSE

On 22 October 2026 we joined partners OutSystems and SUSE at Trefdag Vlaanderen Digitaal in Flanders Expo Ghent. Together with OVAM, the Flemish public waste agency, we gave a talk on how enforcement officers go from an observation on the street to a case file at the office in one click. You can get the slides at the end of this post.

From street to office in one click

In Forum Hall 8, Lieven Ferny (OVAM) and Mark Kromski (ACA Group) explained how OVAM's new mobile apps for litter and enforcement are changing the work of its enforcement officers. They spend less time on admin and manual work, and more time in the field.

Three building blocks make that possible.

• Integrations with itsme® and the National Register, so data is right the first time without retyping.
• Smart image recognition, so photos taken in the field are immediately usable in the case file.
• The OutSystems Agentic Systems platform, which gets you from idea and prototype to a secure, working solution faster.

Together with OutSystems and SUSE

At our booth we stood side by side with OutSystems, our low-code partner, and SUSE, with whom we offer Rancher. Sovereignty, choice and local partnership ran through every conversation. That fit this year's theme, digital sovereignty. How does government stay in control of its data and platforms while AI and data sharing evolve this fast? Read more about our work for the public sector on our government page.

Our barista served coffee all day, and plenty of good conversations started at that counter.
