Data Governance Specialist

As a Data Governance Specialist, you will play a key role in both designing and practically embedding governance activities within ACA Group and for our clients. You act as a bridge-builder between Business, IT, and Change Management.

Your role at ACA

  • Design & Implementation: Help design, refine, and implement the ACA Group Data Governance Framework, including principles, roles and responsibilities, processes, metadata, data quality, and data stewardship.

  • Practical Application: Translate the framework into reality by working on projects to make governance measures applicable, focusing on both policy levels and organizational maturity.

  • Knowledge & Awareness: Build data governance awareness by developing and delivering workshops, training materials, and best practices. Contribute to thought leadership (blogs, white papers, internal knowledge sessions).

  • Change Management: Guide the organizational change required to anchor data governance. You will work with stakeholders at various levels (business owners, data stewards, IT, management) to align culture, roles, and processes.

  • Federated Governance: Preferably participate in or lead federated governance models (where governance is distributed across domains or units). At a minimum, you have a conceptual understanding and the ambition to develop this further.

  • Trend Watching: Stay ahead of relevant developments, trends, and best practices in data governance to benefit both ACA Group and our clients.

Do you have what it takes?

Hard skills

  • Technical Affinity: You can identify and shape the role of data governance within a technical architecture.

  • Federated Governance: Experience with (or a strong grasp of) federated data governance is a significant plus.

  • Change Management: A strong interest or experience in organizational change; you are skilled at bringing people, processes, and culture along during transitions.

  • Project Experience: Experience implementing governance or data management initiatives, preferably in a consultancy or project-based environment.

  • Strategic Planning: Ability to develop a feasible roadmap and planning for Data Governance initiatives tailored to specific client needs.

  • Communication: Excellent communication skills in Dutch and English. You can explain complex technical or organizational matters clearly to diverse stakeholders.

  • Proactive Mindset: You are eager to learn and active in knowledge sharing (workshops, sessions, content creation).

Soft skills

  • Analytical Strength: You have an eye for detail but never lose sight of the "thousand-meter view" (balancing strategy with implementation).

  • Team Player: You work well in a team but are also highly self-reliant and proactive.

  • Result-Oriented: You focus on outcomes while remaining conscious of the human element in change.

  • Client-Centric: You are committed to building a solid governance foundation that realizes the client's data strategy.
