Reference case: Fairville

About Fairville

Fairville helps cities and towns to boost the recovery of local businesses and revitalize a sense of community. Fairville does this by creating a special digital platform with programs that encourage people to get involved in the community and support local businesses.

Challenge

The Buck-e app was initially developed through a collaboration between ACA and The Studio (Belfius). Buck-e rewards children who choose to travel to school by bike or on foot, instead of taking the car. The app communicates with a sensor on their bike or backpack to keep track of their trips. To make this work for lots of students from different places, a platform had to be developed that could easily scale and handle more and more participants.

Solution

In collaboration with our custom software team, ACA Group crafted a robust digital solution. The platform uses containerized app services with autoscaling for peak demand, closely monitored through Azure Application Insights. This setup is managed with precision using Infrastructure as Code, specifically leveraging Terraform.
